Robert Lynn Cassiday

Robert Lynn Cassiday, 82, a resident of Hambleton and more recently, a resident of Nella’s at Autumn Lake, passed from this life Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the nursing home and under the care of WV Caring.

Robert was born Wednesday, April 9, 1941, in Thomas, a son of the late William Andrew Cassiday and Bessie Margaret Mick Cassiday.

Left to cherish Robert’s memory are two daughters, Danielle Cassiday and companion, Michael Scott, of Beverly and Robert Lynn Garn and husband, Russ, of Pittsburgh, PA, two brothers, Phillip Cassidy and wife, Evelyn of Hambleton, and William Ray Cassidy and wife, Kathy, of Eastlake, OH, a sister, Naomi Moore of Parsons, two grandchildren, Markus Cassiday and Mary Cassiday, four great grandchildren, Hannah Garn, Violet Naomi, and Capri Cassiday, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Robert in death besides his parents was a sister, Dorothy Mae Helmick and husband, Richard, two half-brothers, Ronald Lee Buckbee and Vernon Buckbee and wife, Mary Ann, and a brother-in-law, Ronald Moore.

Robert was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1959.  He had worked as a diesel mechanic for D&W Truck Lines from which he retired, and had also worked for Kingsford Manufacturing Company, Nelson Tree Service, Hinchcliff Lumber Company, Parsons Footwear, and Dorman Mills.  Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, and digging ramps.

Robert’s request for cremation will be honored.  A graveside service will be held at Parsons City Cemetery at a later date. The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Robert Lynn Cassiday.  Send online condolences to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com
