Roberta Ann Simmons Knotts, 69, a resident of Holly Meadows, passed from this life Monday, July 1, 2024, at Garrett Regional Medical Center in Oakland, MD.
Roberta was born Wednesday, October 27, 1954, a daughter of the late Delmer and Emma Carr Simmons. On May 12, 1971, at Parsons, she was married to Danny Knotts, who survives. They had celebrated fifty-three years of marriage.
Left to cherish Roberta’s memory are four children, DeWayne Hayward Knotts and wife, Sara, Joyce Freeman and husband, Michael, Barbara Spackman and husband, James, Danielle Arman and husband, Richard, eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild, and an “adopted son and his family” Edward Freeman and wife, Rose with their seven children.
Preceding Roberta in death besides her parents was a sister, Janet Lee Summerfield.
Roberta graduated Parsons High School with the Class of 1971 and had taken part in an associates degree program. She was employed at Parsons Footwear and the Tucker County Senior Center. Roberta was a member of the Good Tidings Assembly of God Church. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed flowers, camping, reading, listening to audio books, and leisurely drives with Danny seeing the beauty of West Virginia.
Visitation will be held at the Hostetler Funeral Home on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 11am until 1pm, the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens.
