Sandra Jo Gerasco Jones, 86, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life Monday, April 20, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of West Virginia Caring.

Sandra was born Friday, April 12, 1940, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Samuel E. Gerasco and Mary Louise “Jackie” Loughry Gerasco. On November 6, 1959, in Oakland, MD, she was married to Clifford “Eugene” Jones, who survives. They were high school sweethearts who had celebrated sixty-six years of marriage.

Also left to cherish Sandra’s memory are three children, Mark C. Jones and wife, Kimberly D, of Winchester, VA, Beth Ann Bond and husband, Mike, of Bridgeport, and Jennifer J. Greenlief and husband, David ”Tink”, of Parsons, six grandchildren, Mark, Matthew, Lance, Josiah, Alexa and husband, Kaiden, and Conor, seven great-grandchildren, Christopher, Elizabeth, Maverick, Jackson, Charlotte, Caroline, and “one on the way”, three sisters, Judith Ann Minke of Elkins, Janelle Louise Judy and husband, Mike, of Beaverdam, VA, and Janette Ellen Caplan and husband, Craig, of Philadelphia, PA, nieces, Angela, Tina, and Lauren, nephews, Mike, Tim, Christopher, Nick, and Andrew, and many cousins.

Preceding Sandra in death besides her parents was a brother-in-law, Butch Minke and nephew, Timothy Judy.

Sandra was a graduate of Parsons High School with the Class of 1958 and had worked as an aide at the Tucker County Hospital, a cashier for the A&P Store and homemaker for the Tucker County Senior Center.

Sandra’s greatest joy was being with her husband and family. She loved to travel and the kitchen was her favorite place always preparing meals for her family. Like her mother, Sandra never knew a stranger making them feel welcome and inviting them into her home.

Visitation was held at Hostetler Funeral Home on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 5:30PM until 7:30PM. Funeral services were held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11AM. Rev. Lowell Moore officiated, and interment followed at Pifer Mountain Cemetery. The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Sandra Jo Gerasco Jones. Send online condolences to the family at www.hostetlerfuneralhome.com.
