Sandra Kay “Sandy” White Kresge

sandykresgeSandra Kay “Sandy” White Kresge, 63, a resident of Parsons, passed from this life late Tuesday evening, October 4, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Mountain Hospice.
Sandy was born on Wednesday, January 7, 1953 in Elkins, a daughter of the late William John White and Julia Annetti Carr White. On September 2, 1975 in Oakland, MD, she married Richard Dale “Dick” Kresge who preceded her in death on November 8, 2011.
Left to cherish her memory is one son, Harper T. Kresge of Parsons, three step sons, Richard D. Kresge Jr. and wife Scarlet of Gordonsville, VA, Stephen “Scott” Kresge and wife Michele of Waynesboro, VA, and Daniel R. Kresge and wife Amber of Ridgeley, six brothers, Roger Carr and wife, Linda of Hambleton, Johnny White and wife, Lill, Ronnie White, Gary White and wife, Kathy, Fred White and wife, Bev, Chuck White and wife, Becky, two sisters, Sharon Eye and husband, John, and Aggie Arnold and husband, Clyde, all of Parsons, three grandchildren, Robin Kresge of Stuart Draft, VA, Samantha Kresge and Nathaniel Kresge, both of Ridgeley, and several nieces and nephews.
Sandy attended the schools of Tucker County, had worked for Kingsford Charcoal and Parsons Footwear, had co-owned and operated with her husband, Dick, K&K Paints, and was a custodian at Tucker Valley Middle School. She enjoyed gardening and working outdoors, canning, and going to yard sales. She loved her animals and being surrounded by family and friends.
Visitation was held at the Hostetler Funeral Home in Parsons on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. Sandy had requested her casket to remain closed and that everyone dress casual as she saw them everyday. Graveside services were held on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Parsons City Cemetery. Rev. Pat Cassidy officiated and interment followed. Memorial contributions in memory of Sandy may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
