Allen was born on January 9, 1931 in Douglas, West Virginia.  He grew up in Dry Fork and graduated from Parsons High School in 1949.  Allen retired as a machinist from Akron Standard and then owned Bonner Cleaning and Maintenance Service for over ten years.  Allen loved to travel.  He and his family took many trips throughout the United States over the years.  He had visited at least 40 states in his life.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, fishing, and most of all deer and turkey hunting.  Allen was a CB radio enthusiast, known to his friends as “The Hoot Owl”.  He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Seymour and Lettie Bonner; and infant siblings, Kenneth and Sharon.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 1/2 years, Gertrude; daughters, Beverly Brookman and Peggy Sue (Carl “Joe”) Kachovec; sisters, Emma Jean (Earl) Haller and Goldie (Roger) Sample; grandchildren, Ryan (Amy) Brookman, Corinne (Doug) Hayes, Krista Kachovec, and Julianne Kachovec; great-grandchildren, Emalynn, Celeste, Wyatt, Katie, and Wilson Allen; many other relatives and friends.

Allen will be privately laid to rest in Dry Fork, West Virginia.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, P. O. Box 105, Glenolden, PA 19036   www.cmtausa.org.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Seymour “Allen” Bonner.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com
