Solena Massi

Solena Massi, 98, of Thomas, WV died January 14, 2014 at Cortland Acres.

She was born October 5, 1915 in Thomas, WV a daughter of the late Thomas and Gina Ciarrocchi Massi. Also preceding her in death were three brothers; Orlando, Ugo and Rudolph Massi and three sisters; Ada Heath, Adeline DelSignore and Betty Fleischfresser. Survivors include one brother; Thomas Massi of Thomas, WV, one sister; Norina Subra of St. Paul, MN and a host of nephews and neices.

Solena was a school teacher for over 60 years having taught in her early years at the Gladwin and Canaan Valley Schools and later at various other schools in the county. She was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was very devoted to her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and dance clubs.

At the request of the deceased her remains were cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Hinkle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
