William Lloyd “Bill” Dodge

William Lloyd “Bill” Dodge, age 89 years, a resident of Parsons, WV, departed this life Tuesday morning, July 7, 2020 at his home.  He had been in declining health.

He was born Saturday, August 30, 1930 at Spraggs, PA, a son of the late Melvin and Kathryn Rush Dodge.  He was twice married.  First to Geraldine Stewart.  On May 4, 1987 at Washington, DC, he was married to the former Linda Lee Hall, who preceded him in death September 28, 2017.

Surviving are two sons, Richard Dodge and wife Lenora of Port Tobacco, MD and Roger Dodge and companion Carol of Thorton, CO; two daughters, Susan Dodge Aguiar and Carol Dodge-Leighton and husband Benjamin, all of Alexandria, VA; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are one son, Lloyd Blaine Dodge; one stepdaughter, Merry Lynn Lowe; one brother, David Lyle Dodge; and four sisters, Willa Cree, Joyce Simmons, Joan McDougal and Elinor Bigler.

He was a graduate of Waynesburg High School of PA, with the class of 1948 and attended Wake Forrest College.  He was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1947 to 1950 and was a Veteran of the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam, serving twenty years of service and was a Green Beret (Special Forces 16).   Mr. Dodge attended the First United Methodist Church at Parson, WV.

Mr. Dodges request for cremation will be honored and inurnment will take place at the Parsons City Cemetery at a later date in September.  The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for William Lloyd “Bill” Dodge.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at; www.lohrbarbfuneralhome.com.
