Whatever happened to the lazy days of summer!  With school just around the corner, the Foundation is gearing up for a busy fall season.
The 2013 Grant Cycle is officially open.  If your organization needs grant support for projects and programs, download the 2013 grant application from our website at www.tuckerfoudnation.net or stop by the Foundation office in Parsons or the Run For It office in Davis.  The deadline to apply is September 20 (postmark).
Run For It is in full swing.   To date, twenty seven teams have registered with more expected.  Teams have until September 1 to register for this year’s event.   Entry forms are available online and in both offices.  This year will feature the largest purse in race history.
It takes more than a village to make the race successful.  With strong support from the Sheriff’s Dept., Reserve Deputies, State Police, Town of Davis, 911, EMS, Davis VFD, and WV DOH, last year’s Event Staff raised the bar and pulled off a seamless operation.  This year’s race is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28.  If you are willing to help out, please stop by or call Run For It HQ at 304-259-5008. The time commitment is @ 2 hrs.
There’s lots of activity at the soon-to-open Highland Market.  Kimmy plans to have the retail market open within six weeks with an inventory that will build based on consumer demand.  Initial inventory will include eggs, beef, pork, poultry, cheese, fruit and a variety of other farm and food products.
The 2-year Feet Under Seats (FUSS) project aimed at promoting regular school attendance wrapped up last week with a luncheon and presentation of the final grant report.  The Foundation, along with program partners, TC BOE, St. George Medical Clinic, and TC Family Resource Network, extend their appreciation to everyone who attended meetings and supported the initiative in different ways.  We commend the teachers, administrators, students and parents for their response.
For more information about the Tucker Community Foundation visit our web site or call 304-478-2930 or 304-259-5008.
