“Virtues, when taken too far, become vices.”
Can’t remember where I heard this. Aristotle maybe? Or YouTube perhaps, where some 50 plus year old dating coach is coping with their own past failed relationships in the form of dispensing “advice”. Not really sure, to be honest. Regardless, wherever it came from, the statement is one zillion percent true. Of that I’m positive.
Of the seven cardinal virtues, when it comes to charity, there are people that’ve taken the reigns of our Republic (and by taken I mean viciously stolen through ‘lawfare’ and fraud) who ostensibly tell Americans, particularly their guileless supporters, that it’s somehow loving and wonderful to bus tens of millions of illegal aliens into the country. Unvetted. Undocumented. No idea whatsoever of who they are or where they’re from. No meaningful plan of where they’re gonna go, where they’re going to stay, or how they’re going to be fed and cared for. And worse, no screening for the myriad of diseases that they’re bringing with them. Drug resistant tuberculosis, polio and HIV being among the worst of them.
Since January, 2021, when the Biden regime took over, we have seen an absolute deluge, tidal wave, tsunami of crime, violence, and death flooding into the country. With much of it also occurring on Mexico’s side of the border, and most of it facilitated by, let’s face it, paramilitary narcoterrorism outfits like MS13, who’ve for some reason been given red carpet treatment by the Democrats and RINO Republicans alike. The most gut wrenching result of the runaway lawlessness in D.C. of course, is the millions of women and unaccompanied children who are sex trafficked and in many cases brutally murdered throughout all of this.
These people are cynically being used as a voting block in my view to swing elections, with the promise of free welfare and housing. Neither of which they’ll really get. Especially after the cartels, NGO’s and crooked politicians finish skimming the funds off the top. They’ll become instead a weaponized permanent underclass with no jobs and no prospects of a better life to speak of. Hapless pawns in a sick game of political dominance.
For those of us who saw the glaringly obvious disaster and humanitarian crisis that would come about from such an insidious policy, we genuinely, honest to God tried to warn everybody. Tried voting against it. Tried peacefully protesting. Tried going through all the legal channels. Tried desperately, in the insurmountably Sisyphean task, to not only put a pin in the madness, but to reverse it all completely. And of course, as is par for the course, we were unapologetically maligned, slandered, shamed, sued, and savagely cudgeled with the social justice shillelagh.
We’re now witnessing a nightmare societal collapse scenario unfolding before our eyes that makes the Visigoth sacking of Rome look like Candyland. And despite what many empowered lunatics on the left still might think, pathological altruism is not a virtue. It’s lethal. It’s disastrous. It’s evil. And it’s gotta stop.
