Amendment 1

David Grimes by David Grimes
October 23, 2018
in Letters to the Editor
0

Dear Editor,

This November, the people of WV will be able to decide whether or not taxpayer dollars should be used to fund elective abortions.

Amendment 1 will be included on the ballot to determine this.  Over the years, the State of WV has paid for abortion on demand with nearly $10,000,000 of our tax dollars for nearly 35,000 elective abortions for the entire nine months of pregnancy for any reason or no reason at all.

If Amendment 1 passes, it will not prevent women from obtaining abortions.  Abortions will still be available in WV, but our tax dollars will no longer pay for them EXCEPT in the cases of the life of the mother, medical emergency, rape and incest, or fetal anomaly.

WV is one of only 17 states in the nation that require taxpayer funding of abortion.  This is the most important pro-life vote in the history of WV.  If you do not want your tax dollars to pay for abortions in WV, then please vote “YES” on Amendment 1 on November 6.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
Father Timothy J. Grassi
