Momma Said

Momma Said, “Our poor country is going to He** in a hand basket.”  The state of affairs in this country is making us the laughing stock of the world.  The safety of people at our airports is at an all time high.  If the air traffic controllers walk off the job what will happen then?  I know our borders need defending, but this is taking it just a bit too far.

We need security at the border but we are sacrificing it everywhere else, and then broadcasting it to the world for someone to take advantage of.  Another bombing occurred in Syria this past week killing American citizens and military personnel and what do we do? Broadcast all troop movements to the world for all to take a shot at.

We don’t have much conflict in the area of the country that I live in, but in the major cities of the US there is much unrest.  We have teachers striking, all the federal employees marching, children being kidnapped, I just don’t know how much more strife we can stand. Where did peace and harmony go?  Momma Said, “I miss it so much, it needs to show its face and make a stand.”

Thank God Jayme Closs outsmarted her kidnapper and made good on her escape.  I feel for her, losing both parents and being kidnapped.  I hope life holds good things for her from here on out.  She is a brave young woman and I hope she can come back from these adversities and make a good life for herself.  She deserves it.

Combine vegetables in a 16-quart slow cooker and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 7-8 hours. Avoid opening the lid often, as this allows the steam to escape.
