Greed is a very powerful thing. It can take hold of a person and make them into a monster. It can rip the soul from your very existence. I have had experience with this and it is not something I wish to go through again. Momma Said, “Greed corrupts from within.”

When greed becomes a part of your very life, you overlook it as a part of who you are. Well let me tell you, it changes a person so much that they are even hard to recognize. Greed will get you nowhere fast. Momma Said, “Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.”

Proverbs 17:22 says, A merry heart doeth good like a medicine but a broken spirit drieth the bones. My spirit was almost (almost I might add) broken but I preserved. I have a merry heart now and my life is full. I have a very strong will and it will take more than what was dished out to me to break it.

Everything has a way of coming full circle and if that happens I hope I am around when it is completed. People think money is the answer to everything, but I can tell you it is not. Just look out your back window at the vast expanse of what you once owned and see that when greed comes between you and your loved ones, it will come back to bite you.

I can only hope that the world could change enough that greed could be extinguished and just plain no longer exist. I know it is a pipe dream but still when you have hope you have a good chance of success. And take my word for it, I WILL SUCCEED in what I set out to do.

I will leave you this week with a very good recipe that I hope you enjoy. I realize that I only put recipes in for desserts but if you spell desserts backward, you get stressed and I don’t want to go back only forward. Momma Said, “So eat a sweet and then go for a walk in the beautiful sunshine and burn off those extra calories.”

NANNER CAKE

Ingredients

1 box yellow cake mix (& ingredients to make cake)

2 box (small) instant banana pudding…

4 c milk

8 oz whipped topping

20 vanilla wafers, crushed

sliced bananas – use your own judgment

Directions

1 Follow the direction on the cake mix box to prepare the actual cake. Prepare it in a 9 x 13″ pan. When golden, remove from over and let cool for a few minutes.

2 When just slightly cooled, use the end of a wooden spoon (the handle end) to poke holes into the baked cake. Don’t be shy; make the holes big enough for the pudding to seep into and go deep enough with the spoon that you hit the bottom of the pan.

3 Next, prepare your pudding mixture. Combine your 4 cups of milk and the instant pudding mix; whisk until fully combined and there are no lumps.

4 Now it’s time to fill those holes! Pour the pudding mixture over the entire cake, taking care to get it into all your holes. Use the spoon to help really get it into the cake and spread evenly.

5 Refrigerate for about two hours… or until set. Top with whipped topping, crushed vanilla wafers and sliced banana! Serve and enjoy. (Refrigerate any leftovers.)

Chocolate Chip cake mix…use chocolate pudding top with cool whip & either white or chocolate chips and use Vanilla Wafers or your favorite cookies (the bananas would be optional of course)

Use Devils Food cake mix with cherry jello to pour in holes. Ice with Cool Whip.

Chocolate cake with chocolate pudding maybe crumbled gram cracker on top with whipped cream and strawberries.

Pineapple cake mix, vanilla pudding and crushed pineapples.
