This is rerun photo of Miss Ruby Greider’s classroom of 1936-37 with nearly everyone identified thanks to the sharp mind of Betty Bright McCourt.

This week’s photo is of a group of students at the Parsons Grade School. The picture indicates that it is the 1936-37 school year. The students are unknown so if you are able to identify any of them let me know. The teacher is Miss Ruby Greider. She was the daughter of Harry E. and Katherine Babb Greider. She was born March 7, 1900 and died July 8, 1990; being aged 90 at her death, she made the list of nonagenarians in The History of Tucker County West Virginia by Cleta Long. In 1990, Miss Greider was named to the Parsons High School Alumni Hall of Fame. In addition to teaching, she was involved in the First United Methodist Church. The nursery at the church was named in her honor; The Ruby Kate Greider Nursery. Ideas or comments contact Tim Turner (304) 478-3389.
