Last week’s photo was of Amos Jacob Nine and his wife Alda Dumire Nine (with two of their children; Ola, standing between her parents and Paul sitting on his mother’s lap. Paul passed away around 5 or 6 years of age. Total children in the family included  7 boys (three of the boys died young) and 2 girls. Amos was referred to as “Doc” Nine though he was never a doctor. When Amos and Alda were married in the early 1900’s they lived in Hambleton; around 1918 they moved to a farm on Location. While living in Hambleton, “Doc” Nine worked in the logging industry. When they moved to the farm on Location, he operated a small sawmill. He eventually sold the sawmill and continued to farm.  Photo identified by Nick and Delores Nine. This is Nick’s grandfather. This week’s photo could be from the following families: Nine, Gooden, Johnston, Haller. If you can identify them call Tim Turner (304) 478-3389.
