Moorefield, W.Va. — Lindsey Thompson, a Business Management student at Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College, received a $1,000 scholarship from Pendleton Community Bank in December 2025.

The scholarship supports students enrolled in Eastern’s Agriculture or Business Management programs and can be applied toward tuition and fees.

“I am honored and grateful to receive the Pendleton Community Bank Scholarship. This scholarship will help ease the financial strain of college. Thank you for this opportunity and your generosity. After I receive my associate’s degree in business management this spring, I will pursue my bachelor’s degree in business at Franklin University through Eastern’s transfer program,” said Thompson. “I am currently working part-time at a financial institution, and I hope that connection grows into a career. Once again, thank you very much for awarding me for this scholarship!”

Pendleton Community Bank Executive Vice President and West Virginia Area Executive and Board of Governors President Sheldon Arbaugh, along with Robert Burns, Director of Non-Profits at Eastern, presented the scholarship check to Thompson.

This and other partner funded scholarships helps reduce financial barriers and allows students to stay focused on completing their degrees.

Pendleton Community Bank has been a longstanding partner of Eastern and has maintained a presence at campus initiatives, including the college’s annual job fair and open houses.

“Community partnerships like this were critical to student success,” Burns said. “Pendleton Community Bank has continued to demonstrate its commitment to education and workforce development across our region.”

Eastern WVCTC collaborates with regional employers and organizations to expand student opportunities through scholarships, workforce training and career connections. If you are interested in becoming a partner of Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College, please reach out to Robert Burns at robert.burns@easternwv.edu.
