Frontline workers have until January 6th to register for program

McHenry, MD – Garrett College is now accepting registrations for the upcoming session of the Family Development Credential (FDC) Program, a nationally respected program designed to equip frontline workers with the skills needed to support families in setting and reaching goals for healthy self-reliance.

The next FDC course begins January 20th, with sessions held at both the Community Action Committee (CAC) and Garrett College’s McHenry campus. The registration deadline is January 6th.

Open to professionals working in education, social services, healthcare, and other family-support roles, the FDC Program is ideal for those who want to strengthen their ability to coach and empower families.

“This class was very informative to me, and Katie [Harding] did a great job of teaching it,” said former participant Regina Green, who completed the program this past May. “She made it fun and interesting. I would recommend this class to anyone working with families.”

To earn the credential, participants must:
• complete 90 hours of classroom instruction;
• prepare a professional portfolio with the guidance of a portfolio advisor; and
• pass the state-level FDC credentialing exam.

Interested individuals are encouraged to register early to reserve a seat. For more information or to register, please contact Kimberly Govi at 301-387-3084 or kimberly.govi@garrettcollege.edu.
