Parsons – The Tucker Community Foundation wants to remind all students that the Foundation’s scholarship application deadline is Friday, March 8, 2024.  Michael Moore, Chief Financial Officer, said that all applications had to be postmarked by March 8th to be considered for a scholarship this upcoming year.  Moore said that students can go to www.tuckerfoundation.net/endowed-funds/scholarships/ to download an application and view the list of scholarships.

Students may also go to their high school guidance counselors to obtain a scholarship application.  Every high school counselor in the Tucker Community Foundation’s 8 county service area has received copies of the scholarship applications to distribute to students, said Moore.  Applications are also available at the Foundation offices located in the Board of Education Annex at 100 Education Lane, Parsons.

The Tucker Community Foundation has over 40 different scholarship funds that will pay out roughly $100,000 in scholarships this year to deserving students in the Foundation’s service area.  “I encourage all students to apply for a scholarship.  The Foundation awards scholarships to students going to a traditional 4-year college, graduate school, community college or a trade school”, said Moore.

Scholarship applications can be delivered by email, postal service or in person.  The important thing to remember is the deadline is Friday, March 8, 2024.  For students emailing or hand delivering their applications they must be turned in by 3:00pm on March 8th.  Those students mailing their applications, they must be postmarked by March 8th.

Anyone that needs assistance completing the application can see their guidance counselor or call the Tucker Community Foundation office at (304) 478-2930.  Foundation office hours are Monday thru Friday from 8am to 4pm.  Foundation staff are always willing to answer questions and give assistance to students.
