The Parsons High School Alumni Association held their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Little Andi’s Restaurant in Parsons.

The Parsons High School Alumni Association meeting was called to order by the president Marvin “Bud” Parsons. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the secretary Sue Ann Silk. The treasurer’s report was given by Jane Parsons, treasurer, stating that the second semester scholarships had been given to the four recipients. Also the “Peggy Beery Clendenin Scholarship” had been sent. These funds are raised by the annual PHS Alumni Banquet held each Memorial Day weekend along with donations received by mail.

The Parsons High School Alumni Association banquet will be held May 24, 2014 at the Tucker Valley Elementary Middle School. Our meeting was to make preparations for the banquet and to honor the classes of 1934, 1944, 1954, 1964, and 1974. Classmates from the classes of 1954 and 1964 were in attendance at our meeting.

Members and guests attending were: Dorothy Judy, Nancy Parsons, Diane Wade, Susan Knotts, Sylvia Rosenau, Jeanie Ledden, Carol Weinstein, Phyllis Carr, Bernice Hymes, Jeanette Bishoff, Judy Fairbanks, Nola DeVilder, Sue Ann and Terry Silk, and Bud and Jane Parsons.

The next meeting will be held February 13, 2014 at 5 p.m. at Little Andi’s Restaurant. Alumni and guests are welcome to attend and help with the planning of the alumni weekend.
