DAVIS-THOMAS BOYS’ & GIRLS’ BASKETBALL UPDATE

The Davis-Thomas Boys’ Varsity team traveled to Moorefield on Tuesday February 13th to face off against Petersburg in the first round of the PVL Tournament. The Bears got down by as many as 20 points, but Davis-Thomas battled back to make the contest close as they fell to Petersburg 49-43. Zaden White led Davis-Thomas with 15 points and Blake Anderson 14 points.

On Thursday February 15th the Davis-Thomas Boys’ traveled to Union to participate in the Annual Union Tournament. The Bears got the opening round win over host Union by the final score of 40-25. Harper Russell led Davis-Thomas with 17 points and Zaden White added 11 points in the win.

Davis-Thomas traveled to Union on Saturday February 17th to compete against Harman for the Union Tournament Championship. In a hard fought game Harman got the victory by the final score of 36-31. Zaden White led Davis-Thomas with 17 points and Blake Anderson added 10 points in the loss for the Bears. Zaden White and Blake Anderson were also selected to the All-Tournament team. Davis-Thomas finished the season with a 14-6 record.


On Thursday February 15th the Davis-Thomas Girls’ Basketball team traveled to Union to compete in the Union Tournament. The Lady Bears faced off against Union in the first round and fell in the contest by the final score of 38-11. Nevaeh Nichols led Davis-Thomas with 6 points.

The Lady Bears faced off against East Hardy on Saturday February 17th in the consolation game of the Union Tournament. East Hardy got the victory over Davis-Thomas in a close game 27-23. Nevaeh Nichols led Davis-Thomas with 10 points and Tory Paul added 6 points for the Lady Bears in the loss. Nevaeh Nichols was selected to the All-Tournament team.
