The Bricks to Bleachers is a fund raising project where you can purchase a four inch by 8 inch brick to honor someone special in your life.  So far the Brick sales, along with money raised from private donations, grants and chicken burns, have raised a total of $265,000.
footballKevin White, President of the Athletic Boosters said, “Phase Two will also depend on donations, grants and chicken burns.  The project is far from being done.  We have a group of dedicated people wanting to continue improvements.”
The next improvement the group wants to “tackle” is to reface the concession stand.  So far, bricks that have been purchased have been placed in the wall in front of the bleachers.  The next phase will see bricks placed on the newly faced concession stand and other highly visible areas that will be erected in the future.
A lot of hard work has gone into the field and it has received a playoff approval for Single A by the WVSSAV.  White also said the group wants to add new locker rooms, new bathrooms and a new scoreboard.  The fence going up to the bleachers on the far end of the field will also to be finished.
To purchase a brick, or for more information, contact White at 304-478-3433 or 304-478-2881.  Forms can also be found at Mountain Valley Bank, McClain Printing Company and on the RH Armstrong Memorial Bleachers Fund Facebook page.
