Much like the Davis Thomas boys’ team, the Lady Bears also traveled to Capon Bridge Middle on December 22nd. The JV squad struggled early, failing to score in the first period, but they hung tight and fought to the finish. Despite outscoring the Wildcats in the fourth period to pull within a single score, the late push was just too short as the JV Lady Bears fell 16–14. Shylah Wolfe led DT with 5 points, E. Pregley had 4, A. Evans pitched in 3, and A. Mullenax added 2.

The undefeated varsity squad took the hardwood next. DT held a narrow 7–6 lead at the end of the first but trailed by three, 17–14, at the break. The third period proved pivotal as the Lady Wildcats pulled away; the Lady Bears could only muster 4 points in the frame, leaving them trailing 25–18 going into the fourth. Capon Bridge maintained their momentum in the final period, outscoring DT 12–9 to seal a 37–27 victory.

A. Johnson and M. Simmons both poured in 8 points for the Bears, followed by H. Wilt with 6, Shylah Wolfe with 3, and Shay Wolfe with 2. The Lady Bears will look to bounce back as they host Terra Alta Middle School on December 30th, with tip-off set for 5:00 PM.
