The Lady Mt. Lions battled the Southern Garrett Rams at home this past week, however it was eventually the weather that decided the game rather than the score. Tucker found themselves in a hole in the bottom of the 7th inning as the rain began to pour.
Tucker would load the bases with no outs and the top of the order up to bat when the lightning began striking and the game had to be postponed. The two teams will resume play when Tucker travels to Southern, they will finish the first contest before the start of the second. The Mt. Lions would end their week with a home game against the Tygarts Valley Bulldogs.
Tucker would dominate the matchup and lead from start to finish. Sutton Pase would go 2-4 at the plate and drive in a game high three runs, Ava Shaffer would go 3-3 at the plate notching two doubles.
Sophomore righty Peyton Hicks got the win off the rubber facing 23 batters, throwing 66 aces in the contest. Tucker will return to action as they travel to Pendleton County to take on one of the top teams in single A, first pitch is set for 4:30pm.
