The Tucker County Lady Mt. Lions don’t know about you, but they’re feeling 22 — years in a row, that is. The streak of trips to the girls’ state tournament has now been extended to 22 straight seasons, stretching back to before any current player was even born.
The Mt. Lions had a familiar opponent standing in their way: the Pendleton County Lady Wildcats. Tucker made it known early that they were on a mission, doubling up Pendleton 19–8 in the first quarter before extending their lead to 24 points at halftime, 41–17.
TC held the Lady Wildcats to just one point in the third quarter to really put the game on ice at 53–18. The Lady Mt. Lions then set cruise control in the fourth quarter with the destination set for Charleston, WV, finishing with a final score of 70–25.
