KINGWOOD – The Tucker County Volleyball team traveled to Preston on Wednesday October 11th for a JV and varsity match. In the JV match Preston won in straight sets 25-14, 25-19. In Set 1 of the varsity match the visiting Lady Mt. Lions took an 8-5 lead. Preston surged back to tie the score at 15-15. The Lady Knights then outscored Tucker County 10-2 through the rest of the set to tack Set 1 by the score of 25-17. In Set 2 the Lady Mt. Lions led 3-1 early on. Preston then fought back to take a 12-9 lead halfway through the set. The Lady Knights continued to control the set as they won Set 2 with a score of 25-14. Tucker County got down 7-1 to start Set 3. The Lady Mt. Lions were unable to overcome that deficit as they lost Set 3 by the score of 25-15. This would give Preston the 3-0 Match win over Tucker County.
RACHEL – The Lady Mt. Lions Volleyball team traveled to North Marion on Thursday October 12th. In the JV match the Lady Huskies took the match 2-0 with scores of 25-13 and 25-23.
In the varsity match Tucker County surged their way to an early 5-2 lead. North Marion fought back to tie the score at 6-6. The Lady Huskies then continued to score as they took a commanding 17-11 lead. The Lady Mt. Lions could not recover in the set as North Marion won Set 1 by the score of 25-15. In Set 2 the home team North Marion led early 5-1. Tucker County could not stop the Lady Huskies momentum as North Marion led 18-7. The homestanding Lady Huskies then pulled away to take Set 2 with a score of 25-8. The Lady Mt. Lions could not force a fourth set as Set 3 would also go to North Marion. Tucker County battled in Set 3 as the score was tied 8 times through the set at 1-1, 2-2, 7-7, 10-10, 12-12, 14-14, 21-21 and 22-22. North Marion then pulled away late as they won the set 25-22. This would give North Marion the Match win over Tucker County 3-0.
