LADY MT. LIONS VOLLEYBALL FALLS IN SECTIONAL AT PENDLETON

FRANKLIN – The Tucker County Volleyball team traveled to Pendleton County for a first round Sectional match on Monday October 30th.  In the first set the homestanding Lady Wildcats raced out to a 6-1 lead.  The Lady Mt. Lions fought back to get the score to 8-7 Pendleton County.  The Lady Wildcats then responded to take a 15-7 advantage.  Tucker County stayed close, but they could not make a comeback as they fell in Set 1 by the score of 25-17.  In Set 2 Pendleton County once again got out to a quick lead as they led 10-2.  The Lady Mt. Lions could not get the scoring going as they continued to trail 18-3.  The Lady Wildcats then closed out the set as they won Set 2 with a score of 25-8.  In the third set Tucker County fought early as the score was tied at 2-2, 3-3 and 8-8 early on in the set.  Pendleton County then scored 12 straight points to build a 20-8 lead.  The Lady Mt. Lions were not able to recover as they dropped Set 3 by the score of 25-11.  This would give Pendleton County the 3-0 Match win to advance in Sectional play.

 

Tucker County(6-17) would end their season with this Sectional loss.  Pendleton County advanced to the Sectional Championship after defeating Moorefield in the Sectional Semi-Finals.  East Hardy would win the Sectional Championship and Pendleton County would then to the Regional Tournament after finishing second in the Section.  East Hardy then won the Regional Championship to advance to the State Tournament.  Pendelton County also qualified for the State Tournament after placing second in the Regional.  The State Volleyball Tournament will be in Charleston on December 8th and 9th.  For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
