Lady Wildcats’ Varsity Finish 2nd And JV Finish 3rd In Tournaments

The Tucker Valley Girls’ Varsity Basketball team opened tournament play on Feb 18th at Philippi against Elkins. The Lady Wildcats got off to a quick start and took the victory 53-19. Sydney Nestor led Tucker Valley with 23 points and Sydney Moore added 8 rebounds.

The very next night Feb 19th the Lady Wildcats faced Buckhannon for the Tournament Championship. Buckhannon held Tucker Valley to just 1 point in the first quarter and led 10-1 after one. Buckhannon continued to dominate the game and upset the Lady Wildcats by the final score of 33-17. Sydney Nestor led Tucker Valley with 8 points and 9 rebounds. Tucker Valley Girls Varsity team finished the fantastic season with just 1 loss all year.

The Lady Wildcats JV team started their tournament play on Feb 12th in Elkins against Buckhannon. In an exciting game that needed overtime to decide it the Lady Wildcats fell 30-27. Kelcee James led Tucker Valley with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

On Feb 22nd the Tucker Valley JV Girls faced off against Belington at Elkins in the 3rd place game. The Lady Wildcats came out strong in the first quarter and never looked back as they got the victory 39-19. Kelcee James led Tucker Valley with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
