LIONS BASEBALL WIN GAMES AT PARKERSBURG CATHOLIC

PARSONS – The Tucker County Baseball team hosted East Hardy on Friday May 5th after a snowy soggy week of weather.  The visiting Cougars exploded in the 1st inning as they scored 13 runs to take an early 13-0 lead.  East Hardy then added 4 runs in the top of the 2nd inning to make the score 17-0.  Tucker County scored 1 run in the bottom of the 2nd inning to put the score to 17-1 Cougars.  East Hardy then got 1 run in the 3rd inning to push the lead to 18-1 after 3 innings.  The Mt. Lions would score 2 runs in the 5th inning, but that was not enough to extend the game as Tucker County fell in the contest 18-3.

East Hardy held the Mt. Lions to just 4 hits in the game.  Tucker County was led at the plate by Mason Kisamore 2 hits, including a triple that hit the center field fence.  Maddox Anderson also had 2 hits on the night for the Mt. Lions.  Ethan Rosenau got the start on the mound for Tucker County.  Xander Lambert, Justin Robeson and Mason Kisamore entered the game in relief for the Mt. Lions.  

 

PARKERSBURG – The Mt. Lions traveled to Parkersburg Catholic for a double header on Saturday May 6th.  In the first game of the day Tucker County got the scoring started in the 2nd inning with 1 run.  The Mt. Lions then added 5 runs in the 3rd inning to take the lead over Parkersburg Catholic 6-0 through 3 innings.  Tucker County would then score 1 run in the 5th inning and 8 runs in the 6th inning to give the Mt. Lions the win 15-0.

Tucker County collected 15 hits in the game.  Xander Lambert led the Mt. Lions at the plate with 4 hits.  Reid Kisamore and Justin Robeson(double) had 3 hits in the contest, while Mason Kisamore added 2 hits including an inside the park homerun in the 3rd inning.  Nate Ricottilli had 2 hits in the game including 1 double, while Tony Costlow chipped in with 1 hit in the game 1 win for Tucker County.  Justin Robeson got the start on the mound for the Mt. Lions and he went 4 innings while collecting 10 strikeouts.  Reece Poling entered the game in relief.

 

In game 2 of the day Tucker County started hot as they scored 5 runs in the 1st inning and 6 runs in the 2nd inning to give them an 11-1 lead after 2 innings.  The Mt. Lions then added 1 run in the 3rd inning.  The game was called after the 5th inning due to darkness(no lights at field) as Tucker County got the win by the final score of 12-1.

Mason Kisamore got the start on the mound for the visiting Mt. Lions as he went the complete 5 innings and he allowed just 1 hit while recording 7 strikeouts.  Reid Kisamore led Tucker County in batting with 2 hits.  Mason Kisamore, Xander Lambert(double), Nate Ricottilli(double), Ethan Rosenau and Maddox Anderson collected 1 hit each in the Mt. Lions win.
