Wildcats baseball took on two Preston County middle schools this past week. The first matchup was on the road against the Bruceton Bulldogs. Tucker Valley found themselves down 8-4 after three innings, but the Wildcats turned the tables in the final four innings, outscoring the Bulldogs 15-0 over that span to take home the win, 19-8.

The Wildcats absolutely hammered the baseball, collecting 22 hits in the game. Rylan Sexton led the charge with four hits and two RBIs. Bentley Haddix had three hits and collected six total RBIs. Asher Kisamore and Quinton Teter also had three hits each. Teter collected the win on the mound for Tucker, with Leland Nelson notching the save.

The Wildcats then returned home for an eighth-grade night bout with the West Preston Panthers. Tucker jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but failed to secure another run over the remaining four innings, ultimately falling 12-2. Tucker collected just five hits in this one, with Kisamore recording one hit and the game’s only two RBIs. Teter, Sexton, Braylon Simmons, and Luke Lantz each collected one hit.

Tucker Valley currently sits at a 5-7 record with one game remaining, a road matchup against Tygarts Valley on Wednesday, May 13.
