Mountain Lions Golf Team Hosted 2 Home Contests

CANAAN VALLEY – The Tucker County Golf team hosted Tygarts Valley and Philip-Barbour on Tuesday August 19th at Canaan Valley Resort. Philip-Barbour won the match with a team score of 163, followed by Tygarts Valley with 184 and Tucker County finished with a team score of 196. The Mt. Lions were led by Seth Evans with a 45, followed by Eric McCrum 47, Olivia Goff and Wes Knotts had a 52 and Carleigh Bolyard shot a 54.

On Thursday August 21st Tucker County hosted Petersburg and Tygarts Valley to Canaan Valley Resort. Tygarts Valley won the match with a score of 178. Tucker County took home second place with a team score of 197 and Petersburg finished with a score of 205. Seth Evans was low medalist in the match with a score of 41. Eric McCrum finished up with a 47, while Olivia Goff had a 51, Wes Knotts and Carleigh Bolyard ended with a score of 59 each. Coach Sam Goughnour had this to say about his teams week, “Everyone is working at trying to get their score down, Coach Ruckle and I know they are capable. We hope all 5 players can get their scores below 50 In the near future.”

The Golf team will travel to Clarksburg Country Club for a match with Notre Dame, and Braxton County today and then they will host Moorefield, Union and Notre Dame on Thursday at Canaan Valley. Tee time is 4pm for both contests. For more pictures and info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
