On Monday night in Parsons, the JV Mt. Lions took on the visiting Wildcats of Pendleton County. Tucker would get on the board first with just over a minute to play in the first quarter on a 7-yard touchdown run by running back, Cade Rapp. Quarterback, Luke Barb, would add the conversion on a two-point scramble making the lead 8 – 0. Junior corner, Mikey Mitchell, would intercept the pass on the following possession, giving the Mt. Lions the ball in plus territory to start the drive. On the following play running back, Braxton George, would take the ball up the middle for a 45-yard touchdown run. Mitchell would scamper in from the quarterback position to add the two-point conversion making the score 16 – 0. Pendleton would turn the ball over on downs on the following possession, giving Tucker the ball at their opponent’s 44-yard line. The Mt. Lions would fail to make any headway on the drive turning the ball back over to Pendleton County. The Wildcats would again fail to muster any offense and were forced to punt the ball back to the Mt. Lions. Tucker would again make their opponents pay as Braxton George gashed the defense for a 51-yard touchdown run. The two-point attempt was no good, making the score 22 – 0. Pendleton’s luck would not change as two plays later freshman corner, Evan Hexom, would intercept a pass and take it all the way down to the Wildcat 24-yard line. The Mt. Lions would capitalize on the turnover as Mitchell connected with receiver, Brock Hovatter, for a 20-yard touchdown pass. Mitchell would take in the two-point conversion making the score 30 – 0 entering the half.
The game would remain 30 – 0 until Tucker would again score on a 4-yard touchdown scramble by Luke Barb. The two-point attempt was denied by the Wildcats, making the score 36 – 0 with under two minutes to go in the third quarter. Mt. Lions would hold Pendleton on its next possession and answer with a 44-yard touchdown pass from Luke Barb to sophomore receiver, Cayden Arnold, just before the end of the third. Barb added the conversion making the score 44 – 0. Neither team would score in the fourth and that would ultimately be the final.
