MT LIONS BASEBALL TEAM DROP 2 ROAD GAMES

MOOREFIELD – The Tucker County Baseball team traveled to Moorefield on Tuesday May 1st. The Mt. Lions fell in the game by the final score of 30-0.


The home standing Yellowjackets came ready to play on their Senior Night. Tucker County managed just 2 hits in the contest. Gus Mullennex and Cameron Wamsley had 1 hit each for the Mt. Lions. Wamsley started the game on the mound for Tucker County followed by Wesley Snyder and Shane Humphrey spent some time on the mound.

MORGANTOWN – The Mt. Lions traveled to Trinity Christian on Wednesday May 2nd for one contest. Tucker County fell in the contest by the final score of 13-3.

The Mt. Lions collected 4 hits in the game. Christian Purnell led Tucker County with 2 singles while Cameron Wamsley added a double and Tyler Molone chipped in with a single. Michael Gherman did not collect a hit, but he had 2 RBI’s in the contest as he drove in Shayne Liller in the 1st and 3rd inning. Tucker County scored first, but Trinity answered back as the home standing Warriors led 5-3 after 3 innings. Trinity broke the game open in the 4th inning as they scored 6 runs to pull away from the Mt. Lions for good. Gherman took the loss for Tucker County on the mound as he went 5.25 innings as he gave up 3 earned runs.
