The Tucker County Baseball team looks to improve from last season and returns some experience for this years’ team. That experience will be key as the Mt. Lions look to open their season this week, weather permitting.
Josh Evans will be entering his fifth season as the Head Coach for the Tucker County High School Baseball team. Coach Evans feels good about his team this year because of the experience he has returning. Coach Evans said, “Practice is going pretty good, we haven’t been outside that much, just a few days.” Coach Evans returns 7 players with experience and he has added some new players that will help the team this year. Players that look to make an impact this year are as follows: Michael Gherman, Shane Liller, Shane Humphrey, Cameron Wamsley, Christian Purnell, Zach Frymyer, Byron Gidley, Tyler Molone, Jordan Moss, Wesley Snyder, Gus Mullennex and Wyatt Hall. There are 12 players total on this year’s Tucker County team.
The schedule will look similar to the past few years. Tucker County will continue to play the PVC conference schedule where the competition is some of the best in the state in Class “A”, with teams such as Moorefield, East Hardy and Pendleton County. The Mt. Lions will also play home and away games against South Harrison and Doddridge County this season. The schedule will also feature teams such as Trinity, Preston, Union, Philip-Barbour and Tygarts Valley.
Come out and support this Tucker County team as they open their season this week, weather permitting. The Mt.
