RAPP TAKES OVER TUCKER COUNTY SOFTBALL PROGRAM

The Lady Mt. Lions Softball team will start the 2018 season under the direction of AJ Rapp. Rapp who is also the longtime Head Football Coach at TCHS. Rapp will also have assistant coach Alan Simmons joining him this season. The Tucker County Girls’ Softball looks to improve this season as they return some players with experience.


This year’s team has 5 players that return with some experience. Those players include Dominique Meadows, Lauren Cockerham, Anna DiBacco, Adrian Nestor and Rachel Arbogast. Other members of the team that look to make an impact are as follows: Lauren McCrum, Abigail Simmons, Candy Cross, Gracie Filler, Danielle Calcamp, Esther Simmons and Gracie Rapp. When asked about his team Coach Rapp said, “They are practicing hard, our biggest thing we are missing is a couple true pitchers.” Lauren Cockerham will be the main pitcher for the Lady Mt. Lions this season. Rapp added, “Lauren has work a lot in the offseason to get ready to pitch this season.”

The schedule this year features 17 games total and 8 of those game will be at home at Camp Kidd Park outside of Parsons. The Lady Mt. Lions compete in the PVC Conference which is one of the top Conferences in the State. In the Conference and Region is teams such as Moorefield, East Hardy and Pendleton County which are the top programs in Softball year in and year out. Tucker County will also face “AAA” Preston in a set of double headers, they will host Pocahontas County, Tygarts Valley and travel to Notre Dame, Southern Garrett, MD and Tygarts Valley as well.

Come out and support these Lady’s as they open their season on the road at Preston on Wednesday March 28th for a double header that starts at 4:30pm. Tucker County will open at home on April 5th against Pocahontas County. Check out the full schedule and follow the team all year at TuckerCountySports.Com.
