The young men representing TCHS baseball were tripped up by both high schools from Hardy County last week. Tucker faced the Moorefield Yellowjackets in what would be a tough fought loss for the Mt. Lions with a final score of 9-5. Tucker registered 13 hits in the contest with Owen Helmick leading the way going 3-4 with 2 singles, 1 double and 1 RBI, with Owen Bolyard, Josh Crossland and Blake Helmick all notching 2 hits. Senior, Reece Poling got the start on the mound only allowing 8 hits through 5 innings pitched.

The Mt. Lions would then take on the other Hardy County School in the East Hardy Cougars. Tucker fell in the first matchup 25-5 with Cade Rapp going 2-3 at the plate with 2 singles and 1 RBI, Ty Ricottilli went 2-2 with 2 singles and Blake Helmick, Gavin Nestor and Owen Helmick each registering a hit. The second matchup was similar to the first with the final score being 20-6 in favor of the Cougars. Tucker’s Luke Barb went 2-3 with 2 singles and 1 RBI, Owen Bolyard went 2-2 with 1 single and 1 double and Ty Ricottilli went 2-3 with 2 singles and a RBI.

Tucker will return to the diamond at home on Tuesday April 29th at 6:00pm against the Southern Garrett (MD) Rams, then on Wednesday April 30th at home against Trinity Christian at 6:00pm.
