TCHS BASKETBALL PLAYERS EARN ALL-STATE RECOGNITION

The WV Sports Writers Association announced the 2018 Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball All-State Selections. Tucker County landed 3 girls on the selections and 2 Mt. Lions Boys’ Basketball players were recognized.


Senior, Sydney Nestor was named to the First Team as she led the Lady Mt. Lions in scoring this season and became the schools’ all-time leading scorer(girls’ or boys’) with over 1700 points in her career at TCHS. She also helped her team reach a 14th straight trip to the State Tournament with a final four appearance before falling to eventual State Champions Wheeling Central in the State Semi-Finals. Her team also finished the season with a record of 24-2. Sophomore, Terra Kuhn was announced as a Second Team selection as Kuhn averaged 14 points per game this season and 8 rebounds per game. Senior, Sydney Moore earned Honorable Mention recognition on the list as well, Moore averaged 9 points per game and 5 rebounds per game.

For the TCHS Boys’ Junior, Corrick Ambrose was named to the Honorable Mention list and he averaged over 15 points per game for the Mt. Lions this season. Also making the Honorable Mention list was Senior, Wesley Snyder. Snyder averaged over 11 points per game for Coach Ambrose and the Mt. Lions this season.
