ELKINS – The Tucker County Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country team traveled to D&E College in Elkins on Saturday September 11th to compete in the Forest Festival Invitational.
In the Girls’ race Erin Chambers was the top finisher for Tucker County with an 8th place finish out of 64 total runners and she posted a time of 23:54.99. Overall Lady Mt. Lions Results: 8th-Erin Chambers(23:54.99), 10th-Katie Hicks(24:17.01), 16th-Hannah Hardy(24:59.21), 44th-Brianna Gooden(28:58.69), 48th-Kristen Hicks(29:41.30), 57th-Addie Hicks(32:50.57) and 64th-Tessa Jolly(37:50.20).
The top finisher for the Tucker County Boys’ team was Devin Witemore with a 21st place finish out of 79 runners with a time of 22:39.32. Overall Mt. Lions Boys’ Results: 21st-Devin Witemore(22:39.32), 36th-Trent Eure(24:17.89), 49th-Clay Poling(25:16.82), 57th-Ethan McCrum(26:06.89), 59th-Wesley Strawderman(26:28.62) and 61st-Alan Boyles(26:45.51).
The Tucker County Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country teams will return to action on Tuesday September 21st at Buckhannon-Upshur with a 4:30pm start. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
