The Tucker County Boys’ Basketball team played just one game again this past week which also acted as ‘Senior Night’ that recognized their senior boys’ basketball players and cheerleaders. Tucker hosted a longtime rival in the Rams of Southern Garett, MD. Tucker defeated Southern on the first meeting this season in Oakland. The Mt. Lions jumped out on the Rams to start the game and took an early 15-9 after one period. Southern, however, would not go away easily as the Rams outscored Tucker in the second period and it was a 2-point game at the half 25-23 in Tucker’s favor. The third quarter is where the game would ultimately be decided as the Mt. Lions exploded for 23 points to the Rams 13 points and Tucker was ahead 48-36 going into the final period. Tucker would push their lead out to nearly 20 in the fourth period, but the Rams would not go away quietly with the final score of 61-50.

Bonner 27 pts, 3 reb, FT 2-4; Marks 10 pts, 1 reb; Mitchell 10 pts, 3 reb 3 stl; Wilfong 9 pts, 13 reb, 3 stl, 1 blk, FT 1-2; Lambert 3 pts, 5 reb, 2 stl; Carr 2 pts, 2 reb

3 Point Goals 8-20: Bonner (3) Marks (2) Mitchell (2) Lambert (1)

Tucker will return home on Monday for a makeup ‘PINK OUT’ game against Moorefield with tipoff set for 5:45pm, they will then travel to Tygarts Valley on Thursday for a 5:45pm tipoff.
