TUCKER COUNTY BASEBALL DROP GAMES IN THREE GAME WEEK

PARSONS – The Mt. Lions Baseball team hosted North Marion on Monday April 24th.  The visiting Huskies started the game strong as they scored 2 runs in the 1st inning, 2 runs in the 2nd inning and 3 runs in the 3rd inning to lead the game 7-0 after 3 innings.  North Marion then added 2 runs in the 4th inning to raise the score to 9-0 North Marion after 4 innings.  Tucker County got on the scoreboard in the 6th inning as they added a run on an error by the Huskies to make the score 9-1 North Marion after 6 innings.  The Huskies would then add 4 runs in the 7th inning and Tucker County could not mount a comeback as they game ended with the final score 13-1 North Marion.  

Tucker County was out hit on offense 5-11.  Justin Robeson led the Mt. Lions with 2 hits, while Maddox Anderson, Ethan Rosenau and Nate Ricottilli added 1 hit each for Tucker County.  Mason Kisamore started the game for Tucker County on the mound as he went 1 inning.  Xander Lambert, Reece Poling, Justin Robeson, Sam Marks and Nate Ricottilli entered the game in relief.

 

PARSONS – Tucker County Baseball hosted Philip Barbour on Tuesday April 25th.  The Colts scored first as they got 1 run in the 1st inning and 1 run in the top of the 2nd inning to lead 2-0 early.  Tucker County fought back in the bottom of the 2nd inning with 4 runs to give the Mt. Lions the lead 4-2 after 2 innings.  Philip Barbour added 1 run in the 5th inning to put the score to 4-3 Tucker County.  The Colts then took the lead in the top of the 6th inning with 4 runs.  Tucker County then responded with 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th to tie the score 7-7.  Both teams failed to score in the 7th inning which forced the game to go into extra innings.  Philip Barbour scored 1 run in the top of the 8th inning to take the lead 8-7.  The Mt. Lions were unable to battle back in the bottom of the 8th inning as the Colts got the win by the final score of 8-7.

Ethan Rosenau got the start for Tucker County on the mound and went 6 innings.  Mason Kisamore entered the game in relief for the Mt. Lions.  Rosenau also led Tucker County at the plate with 2 hits.  Maddox Anderson added a triple on the night, while Mason Kisamore, Justin Robeson, Sam Marks and Blaike Adams added 1 hit each in the Mt. Lions loss.  Seniors Mason Kisamore and Dom Mullenax were honored before the game.

 

FRANKLIN – The Mt. Lions Baseball team ended the week with a road game at Pendleton County on Wednesday April 26th.  Tucker County started the game with the bats active as the Mt. Lions scored 1 run after 2 hits in the 1st inning to make the score 1-0 Tucker County after 1 inning.  The homestanding Wildcats fought back in the 2nd inning with 4 runs to put the score to 4-1 Pendleton County after 2 innings.  The Mt. Lions would then score 1 run in the 3rd inning, but the Wildcats answered with 6 runs in the bottom of the 3rd to put the Pendleton County lead to 10-2 after 3 innings.  Tucker County would add 1 run in the top of the 4th inning, but Pendleton County would score 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning.  This would end the game to the mercy rule with the final score of 15-3 Pendleton County.

Mason Kisamore(1 double) and Justin Robeson led Tucker County at the plate with 2 hits.  Maddox Anderson, Ethan Rosenau, Xander Lambert, Blaike Adams and Tony Costlow added 1 hits each for the Mt. Lions in the loss.

Justin Robeson was the starting pitcher for Tucker County as he went 2 innings.  Reece Poling and Xander Lambert entered the game in relief for the Mt. Lions.

 

Tucker County will return to action tonight Thursday May 4th at Southern, MD at 4:30pm, the Mt. Lions will then host East Hardy on Friday May 5th at 6pm.
