MT. STORM – The Mt. Lions took home a road victory over Union 18-8 last Monday April 21st. Tucker County got a great pitching effort from Seth Underwood who picked up the win on the mound in his first game of the season after returning from offseason surgery. Kevin McDermott led the Mt. Lions on offense with only a home run short of a cycle. McDermott finished with a single, double and a triple in the game. Jake Pifer followed with a single and a double at the plate and Alan Molone went 4 for 4 with 4 singles in the contest to give Tucker County the win 18-8.

PARSONS – Tucker County hosted East Hardy on Thursday April 24th for a double header. In the first game the Mt. Lions fought hard with their PVC rival, but fell in the contest 16-10. Zac Haddox took the loss on the mound. Justin Fike led Tucker County on offense as he finished 3-5 in the game with 1 double and 2 singles and scored 2 runs. Kevin McDermott had a great game catching as he threw out 3 East Hardy runners as they tried to steal 2nd base.

In the second game of the night the Mt. Lions came out hot in the 1st inning scoring 4 runs in the inning to take a 4-0 lead. Things would go downhill after that as the Tucker County pitchers could not find the strike zone as they walked 23 batters over the next 2 innings to put the game away for East Hardy and they went on to win the contest by the final score of 32-6.

Tucker County(3-7) was scheduled to host Pendleton County on Monday April 28th and then host Tygarts Valley on Tuesday April 29th. The Mt. Lions will wrap up the week with a trip to Philip-Barbour tomorrow for a 4:30pm start. Follow all Tucker County Sports info at TuckerCountySports.Com
