Tucker County gave up 6 runs in the first inning and then settled down. The Mt. Lions only gave up 1 run over the next 3 innings. The bats were moving well for Tucker County as they collected 8 hits to make the score 7-5 Preston in the 5th inning. Preston then got their bats going in the 5th to score 8 runs in the inning to end the game with the final score of 15-5. Michael Gherman, Shayne Liller, Cameron Wamsley and Byron Gidley all collected 2 hits each. Gherman, Liller and Gidley each hit a double on one of their hits. Michael Gherman was the starting pitcher, but he had to leave the game early as he was hit by a line drive while on the mound. Liller came in for relief to finish the game. Coach Evans was positive as he said, “We hit evenly with Preston, we just need to work on the small things and put together a whole game and we will be alright.”

Tucker County will return to action tonight April 4th vs Pendleton County at home and then they will travel to Pendleton County on Thursday April 5th. The Mt.
