Tucker County Boys Drop Games Against Pendleton And Notre Dame

HAMBLETON – The Mt. Lions Boys’ Basketball team hosted PVC Rival Pendleton County on Thursday January 19th.

Pendleton County jumped out to a big lead and held off a Tucker County comeback as the Mt. Lions fell in the contest 77-66.

The first quarter belong to Pendleton County as they fired in 5 three point baskets to take the lead after one quarter 32-17. Tucker County fought back in the second quarter, but the Wildcats still outpaced the Mt. Lions in the second 19-16 to give Pendleton the 51-33 lead at the half.

In the third quarter both teams played even as both teams scored 16 points to make the score 67-49 Pendleton County after three. The Mt. Lions made a run in the fourth as they closed the deficit to 8, but could not get the shots to fall and Pendleton County picked up the win 77-66.

Ethan Crosten led Tucker County with 22 points, 5 assists, 5 steals and Kordell Fulton added 19 points, 5 rebounds. Josh Kincaid had 11 points, 8 rebounds for Tucker County and Jakob Cousin led the Mt. Lions on the boards as he collected 12 rebounds on the night. The Tucker County JV team pick up the win 53-43.

CLARKSBURG – Tucker County traveled to Notre Dame on Saturday January 21st. The Mt. Lions got down early in the first quarter and could never recover as they fell in the game 84-48.

Notre Dame came out firing in the first quarter as they outscored Tucker County 23-12 in the first quarter of play. The Irish continued to shoot the ball well as they outpaced the Mt. Lions 22-12 in the second to make the halftime score 45-24.

Tucker County was again outscored in the third as the Notre Dame lead increased to 69-40 after three. The Mt. Lions were unable to mount a comeback in the final quarter and the Irish picked up the win 84-48.

Ethan Crosten led Tucker County with 19 points and Jakob Cousin added 9 points, 7 rebounds. Josh Kincaid chipped in 6 points and 7 rebounds for Tucker County in the loss. The Mt. Lions JV team picked up the win 62-46.

Tucker County(7-6) will host East Hardy tonight Wednesday January 25th. The Mt. Lions will then host Moorefield on Friday January 27th. The JV contest for both game will start at 5:45pm. For more info or complete schedules go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
