TUCKER COUNTY CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES IN PVC

BERKELEY SPRINGS – The Tucker County Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country teams traveled to Berkeley Springs on October 10th for the A-AA PVC Championship Meet. The meet consisted of 3 teams in the Girls’ race and 5 teams in the Boys’ race.


Sophomore Maya Paul was the top finisher for the Lady Mt. Lions as she finished 7th overall out of31 runners with a time of 27:50.60. Other finishers and times for the Tucker County Girls’ are as follows: 10th Natalie Evans(29:15.00), 18th Mikala Betler(32:25.40), 19th Zoe Nestor(32:34.20), 26th Caitlin Fladung(34:43.00) and 29th Kandace Nestor(36:17.10). The Lady Mt. Lions finished 3rd overall with a team score of 67 points. Berkeley Springs took home first place and Frankfort placed second as a team.

In the Boys’ race Tucker County took how second place honors with a combined score of 75. Senior Jack Melnick was the top runner for the Mt. Lions with a 10th place finish out of 51 total runners with a time of 21:00.90. Other finishers for the Mt. Lions were as follows: 12th Joseph Lewandowski(21:36.80), 13th Will White(21:37.80), 16th Chris Chambers(22:17.20), 27th Jonathan Rhodes(23:42.20), 32nd Cameron Wamsley(24:13.10), 34th Connor Greenlief(24:22.20), 50th Nathaniel Rader(27:05.20), and 51st David Kines (27:53.90). The teams will return to action on Thursday October 19th at Elkins for the Regional Championship. For the complete PVC results and more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
