TUCKER COUNTY GIRLS’ AND BOYS’ BASKETBALL PLAYERS MAKE ALL-STATE

The WV Sports Writers Association announced the Class ‘A” Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball All-State Selections on Tuesday March 21st.

Tucker County’s Senior Kadie Colebank was selected to the Girls’ Basketball All-State First Team and Sophomore Trevan Bonner was selected to the Boys’ Basketball All-State First Team.  Kadie Colebank averaged a team best 17 ppg and 13 rpg during the season.  Trevan Bonner led the Mt. Lions in scoring with 14 ppg this season.  Colebank and Bonner helped lead their teams to State Runner-up finishes as both teams fell in the Championship games.

Junior, Macy Helmick was selected to the All-State Second Team and Junior, Ashton Lycliter was also selected to the All-State Second Team.  Helmick averaged 12 ppg while dishing out over 6 assists per game for the Lady Mt. Lions.  Lycliter averaged 9 ppg and over 10 rpg for Tucker County.  

Brylee Wetzel and Ericka Zirk were selected to the Girls’ Basketball All-State Honorable Mention List.  Wetzel averaged 9 ppg and Zirk chipped in with 8 ppg on the season for the 21-3 Lady Mt. Lions.  Ethan Rosenau also was recognized as he made the Boys’ Basketball All-State Honorable Mention List.  Rosenau came off the bench this season to average 11 ppg for the 21-5 Mt. Lions.  Congrats to all the Tucker County Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball Athletes on this recognition.
