TUCKER COUNTY GIRLS GET WINS AGAINST SUMMERS CO AND PENDLETON

FAIRMONT – The Lady Mt. Lions traveled to East Fairmont High School on Monday January 15th for a 9 am varsity only contest in the MLK Classic against Summers County. Tucker County used a good second quarter to get a big lead and the Lady Mt. Lions picked up the win by the final score of 67-50.


The first quarter was back and forth until Tucker County got away from Summers County to take an 18-12 advantage after one quarter. The Lady Mt. Lions then outscored the Lady Bobcats 27-9 in the second quarter to take a commanding 45-21 lead at the half.

The third quarter also belonged to Tucker County as they led by as many as 34 points in the third and they outshot Summers County 15-8 in the third to make the lead 60-29 Tucker County after 3. Summers County fought back in the fourth quarter, but the 21-7 advantage by Summers County was not enough as the Lady Mt. Lions got the win by the final score of 67-50.

Terra Kuhn led Tucker County with 22 points, 9 rebounds and Sydney Nestor added 18 points, 9 rebounds, 6 steals in the Lady Mt. Lions win. Sydney Moore had 13 points and McKinley Murphy chipped in 8 points for Tucker County.

HAMBLETON – Tucker County hosted Pendleton County on Saturday January 20th. The Lady Mt. Lions used a big first quarter to get ahead and Tucker County cruised to an 84-23 victory.

The Lady Mt. Lions outscored Pendleton County in the first quarter to take a 24-4 lead after one. The second quarter showed Tucker County outpacing the Lady Wildcats 10-9 to make the halftime score 34-13 Tucker County.

Tucker County then outshot Pendleton County 24-10 in the third to push the Lady Mt. Lions lead to 58-23. In the fourth quarter Tucker County outscored the Lady Wildcats 26-0 to give the Lady Mt. Lions the win by the final score of 84-23.

Sydney Nestor led Tucker County with 33 points and 4 steals. Dominique Meadows had 10 points, 9 rebounds and McKinley Murphy chipped in 10 points. The Tucker County JV team also won 47-17.

Tucker County(11-0) will travel to Notre Dame on Friday January 26th for a varsity only contest at 6pm and the Lady Mt. Lions will host Charleston Catholic on Saturday January 27th for a varsity only contest at 1pm. For more info or complete up to date schedules go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
