TUCKER COUNTY GIRLS’ WIN AT TYGARTS VALLEY AND MOOREFIELD

MILL CREEK – The Lady Mt. Lions Basketball team traveled to Tygarts Valley on Wednesday January 11th for a road game against the Lady Bulldogs.  Tucker County built a big lead in the first quarter and then they cruised to an 82-36 victory.

The first quarter was controlled by the Lady Mt. Lions as led after one quarter 22-2.  Tucker County would outscore the Lady Bulldogs in the second quarter 15-10 to make the halftime score 37-12. 

The third quarter was won by Tucker County 17-14 to push the score to 54-26 Lady Mt. Lions.  In the fourth quarter Tucker County exploded to outscore Tygarts Valley 28-10 to give the Lady Mt. Lions a road win 82-36.

Kadie Colebnk led Tucker County with 17 points, 10 rebounds.  Macy Helmick added 14 points, 8 assists, 4 steals and Addie Hicks had a career high 14 points also for the Lady Mt. Lions in the win.  Ericka Zirk chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and Brylee Wetzel had 10 points in the road win for Tucker County.  The Lady Mt. Lions JV team won 47-22.

 

MOOREFIELD – The Tucker County Girls’ Basketball team traveled to Moorefield on Friday January 13th for a contest with a PVC rival.  The Lady Mt. Lions built a lead in the first half and then Tucker County pulled away for a 59-30 win.

The Lady Mt. Lions came out strong as they led the game 13-8 after one quarter.  Tucker County then built on their lead in the second quarter as they outscored Moorefield 21-9 to make the score 34-17 at the half.

Tucker County controlled the third quarter 15-4 to push the Lady Mt. Lions lead to 49-21 at the end of the third quarter.  In the fourth quarter Tucker County edged the Yellowjackets 10-9 to make the final score 59-30 Tucker County.

The Lady Mt. Lions were led by Kadie Colebank with 14 points, 10 rebounds and Brylee Wetzel added 12 points, 4 steals for Tucker County.  Macy Helmick had 12 points, 6 assists, while Ericka Zirk had 10 points and Jayden Moore collected 7 rebounds off the bench for Tucker County.  The Tucker County JV team also won 50-32.

 

Tucker County(10-0) will return to action on Friday January 20th at Pocahontas County.  The Lady Mt. Lions will then host Philip Barbour on Tuesday January 24th.  The JV games, both nights will start at 5:45pm with the varsity contests to follow the JV games.  For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
