TUCKER COUNTY GIRLS’ WIN SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP OVER UNION

KEYSER – The Lady Mt. Lions traveled to Keyser High School to face Union for the Sectional Championship on Thursday February 23rd.  Tucker County got off to a quick lead and then cruised to a 79-25 victory to win the Sectional Championship.

The first quarter belonged to Tucker County as they led after one quarter 22-7.  The Lady Mt. Lions continued to outscore the Lady Tigers in the second quarter 18-3.  The score at halftime was 40-10 Tucker County.

Tucker County would outscore Union in the third quarter 23-5 to make the score 63-15 at the end of three.  In the fourth quarter the Lady Mt. Lions outpaced the Lady Tigers 16-10.  Tucker County then closed out the game with a win 79-25 to capture the Sectional Championship.  

The Lady Mt. Lions were led in scoring by Kadie Colebank and Brylee Wetzel with 17 points each.  Avery Colebank and Macy Helmick added 9 points each.  Kadie Colebank collected a team high 15 rebounds and Macy Helmick dished out 7 assists.

Tucker County(18-2) will return to action on Thursday March 3rd at Keyser for the Regional Championship at 7pm.  For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
