Tucker County Softball Team Drop 3 Games This Past Week

PETERSBURG – The Tucker County Girls’ Softball team traveled to Petersburg on Thursday May 1st for a double header. In the first contest the Lady Mt. Lions fell by the final score of 12-1. Bekah Simmons, Shannon Whitehair and Melanie Adams each collected 1 single in the loss.

In the night cap the home standing Lady Vikings held Tucker County scoreless and allowed just 2 hits in the game to capture the win in the second game 10-0. Caroline Adams and Bekah Simmons got 1 hit each for the Lady Mt. Lions in the contest.

 

CAMP KIDD – On Friday May 2nd the Lady Mt. Lions hosted Tygarts Valley for senior night. Tucker County battled the Lady Bulldogs as Tucker County collected 7 hits and scored 7 runs in the contest. Tygarts Valley countered with 14 hits in the game and scored 13 runs to get the victory 13-7. Mariah Bowley led the Lady Mt. Lions with 2 singles and Bekah Simmons, Caroline Adams, Shannon Whitehair, Cheyenne Surguy and Alayna Wesoloski had 1 single each. Senior players Bekah Simmons, Mariah Bowley, Shannon Whitehair, Alayna Wesoloski, Caroline Adams, Cheyenne Surguy, Maria Ricottilli and Statistician Tyler Fike were honored before the game. On Sunday Bekah Simmons and Mariah Bowley were voted 2nd team all PVC conference.

Tucker County(4-15) was scheduled to travel to Southern, MD on Monday May 5th for a make-up game. The Lady Mt. Lions will begin Sectional play tonight at Tygarts Valley. It will be a double header with the first game starting at 4:30pm and the second game will start at 6:30pm. These games will be played at Huttonsville. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
