TUCKER COUNTY TRACK TEAM EARN MEDALS AT STATE MEET

CHARLESTON – The Mt. Lions Girls’ and Boys’ Track teams traveled to Charleston on Friday May 17th to compete in the 2-day State Track Meet.  The Lady Mt. Lions team finished with 11 points to give them 16th place.  The top finishers for Tucker County were the 4x400m Relay team with a 4th place finish(4:26.28) to earn medals.  The 4x400m Reay team consisted of Lela Wright, Mayah Gross, Addi Moats and Katie Hicks.   In the 400m event Katie Hicks came home 5th place with a time of 1:01.77 to also earn a State Meet medal.  Lastly, Lela Wright placed 7th in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 17:08.  Williamstown took home the Girls’ team Class “A” Championship and Doddridge County was the Class “A” Girls’ State Runner-Up.

The Tucker County Boys’ Track team competed in three events at the State Meet.  In the 400m event Nate Ricottilli collected a 12th place finish(54.81).  The Mt. Lions 4x800m Relay Team consisting of Nate Ricottilli, Logan Kopec, Lynk Suesli and Alex Collar placed 9th(9:11.59) in the event.  Lastly, the Tucker County Boys’ Shuttle Hurdle Relay team finished in 10th place(1:09.94).  Members of the Shuttle Hurdle Relay team are Logan Kopec, Allen Collar, Liam Davis and Ryan Scott.  The Buffalo Boys’ Team won the Class “A” State Championship and Doddridge County finished as the Boys’ Class “A” State Runner-Up
