PARSONS – The Wildcats Middle School Football team hosted Capon Bridge on Saturday October 23rd in an afternoon game.  The winner of this game would advance to the PVL Championship game against Moorefield.  The Tucker Valley defense stepped up to get a fumble recovery in the endzone to give the Wildcats the lead late in the contest and the win by the final score of 14-12.

Capon Bridge would strike first as they received the opening kickoff and went to work on offense.  The Bobcats then scored on a 30 yard touchdown run with 5:45 left in the first quarter.  The 2 point conversion failed to make the score 6-0 Capon Bridge.  Tucker Valley then put together a drive that would burn up the rest of the first quarter and put the Wildcats down to the Bobcats 16 as the first quarter ended with the score 6-0 Capon Bridge.  Tucker Valley then finished off the 17 play drive in the second quarter on a Mikey Mitchell 8 yard touchdown run.  The 2 point conversion failed to tie the game at 6-6 with 7:49 left in the second quarter.  Both teams could not finish drives the rest of the second quarter as the score remained tied at halftime 6-6.

Tucker Valley received the third quarter kick and drove the ball down to the Capon Bridge 4 yard line.  A fumble was then recovered by the Bobcats at the Tucker Valley 15 to stop the Wildcat drive with 4:41 left in the third.  Capon Bridge then put together a scoring drive that was capped off by a wild play.  The Bobcats pass deflected off a Wildcat defender and the ball bounce in the air into the hands of a Capon Bridge player.  The Bobcat player then raced 40 yards for a touchdown with 2:18 left in the third quarter.  The PAT conversion failed to give Capon Bridge the 12-6 lead.  The third quarter ended with the score 12-6 Capon Bridge.  Tucker Valley then tried to answer on offense as they drove the ball again into the Bobcats redzone, but the Wildcats would fumble the ball back to Capon Bridge at the Bobcats 4 yard line.  The Tucker Valley defense then responded with a big play.  Capon Bridge fumbled the snap in their own endzone and the Wildcats Cameron Judy jumped on the fumble for the Tucker Valley touchdown.  The PAT conversion was successful on a Luke Barb run to give the Wildcats the 14-12 lead with 5:45 left in the game.   The Tucker Valley defense would then step up again as Luke Barb intercepted a Bobcats pass with 4:18 left in the game.  The Wildcats then picked up a couple first downs to run out the clock and end the game with the Tucker Valley win 14-12.

The win allowed Tucker Valley to advance to the PVL Championship game.  The Wildcats will now travel to Moorefield tonight October 27th to play for the PVL Championship.  Kickoff is set of 6pm.  For more info visit TuckerCountySports.Com.
