PARSONS – The Wildcats Middle School Football team hosted Mountaineer Middle on Wednesday September 14th. Tucker Valley was outscored 16-0 in the fourth quarter as Mountaineer Middle got the road win over Tucker Valley 40-24.
Tucker Valley would score first as Luke Barb had a 27 yard touchdown run to make the score 6-0 Wildcats after a failed 2 point conversion. Tucker Valley would score again on their second possession on a 25 yard touchdown pass from Barb to Ethan Cummings to give the Wildcats a 12-0 lead. Mountaineer would answer back with a score, the PAT was good for Mountaineer to make the score 12-8 Tucker Valley after one quarter of play. The only score in the second quarter came from a blocked punt by Mountaineer the ball was recovered in the endzone to give the visitors a touchdown. The PAT was good and the first half ended with the halftime score of 16-12 Mountaineer.
On the opening drive of the third quarter Mountaineer marched the ball down the field for a score to put the score to 24-12 Mountaineer. Tucker Valley then answered back with back to back scores. Barb would score on a 49 yard touchdown run and a 32 yard touchdown run to tie the score at 24-24 after three quarters. The fourth quarter would belong to Mountaineer as they scored 16 unanswered points to get the win over Tucker Valley by the final score of 40-24.
Luke Barb led Tucker Valley with 16 carries for 142 yards rushing and Ethan Cummings added 1 catch for 25 yards receiving. Barb also led the defense with 14 tackles, while Caden Arnold added 9 tackles and Ben Gooden had 8 tackles.
